The Autumn Show of Miss. Artists Guild

Today I entered two paintings in the Miss. Artists Guild show at the Jackson Museum of Art.  One is acrylic, Biloxi Panorama.  The other is watercolor, Country Cabin.  I am glad that I got this all accomplished this past month, considering the disasters in my house.  I had a tree limb to fall through my roof.  Then I had to get it fixed.  My house was constant traffic for weeks with repair people.  While all that was ongoing, I finished and framed the two paintings.  I am a very determined artist.  Hopefully the public will like them, as do I.  The show runs through September.

New Group

This summer I realized that oil painting in my house was getting impossible.  I have run out of space, and I was tripping over the supplies.  So went to visit the Painting Pals group in the Ridgeland recreation center near the Reservoir.  It is one day a week, for about an hour in afternoon.  There are about half a dozen people there, working in oils, acrylic, watercolor, whatever.  So I set up my easel and started an oil painting.  There is certainly plenty of room to work in, and they let me leave the wet painting there each week.  I was already acquainted with one of them.  They are quite good painters, but I never let that stop me.  I hope to continue on there awhile.

Park Art Fair International

Happy to have my painting accepted into this show in Triberg, Germany.  My painting is Male Dancer-I and is acrylic on canvas, framed.  The show is mid-March.  I cannot get there, but it is something to advertise everywhere that I can.  Expressionism seems to be more accepted in that show, from what I viewed online of their previous shows.  Congratulations to the many other artists in that show.

New Year, New Art

So now I have finished my painting for the Miss. Artists Guild show of April-May 2016.  It is a painting of a flower on 12"x12" gallerywrap in acrylic.  Certainly I am glad to have it ready.  Also I have done two other small paintings already this year, one in acrylic and one in ink and watercolor.  I am contemplating other paintings sometime soon.  I was happy to sell a few small paintings on Ebay earlier this year.  Not really any profit, but it was a happy day when I learned they had sold.  The buyer sent me nice remarks, also.  That is a welcome change from the scammer emails that I sometimes get about my paintings.  You really have to look close at emails to discern the fake from the sincere customers.  Onward and upward!
