Alpaca Festival
This event was in Stringer, MS, on Nov. 17. There were about a dozen arts and crafts booths and some food booths. Also some local musicians had a gathering for a jam. The farm has about 15-20 alpacas, which were friendly and cute, and also some goats, chickens, donkeys, and large dogs. I went into the small store and there was an assortment of items, some created from alpaca fur. Also there was a demonstration of weaving. I was happy to sell one painting, of some dairy cows. The area has some very well-groomed pastures and the roads were good. A very enjoyable and interesting day.

Autumn Shows
Two entertaining and enjoyable art shows lately. I entered both. Wellsfest was in Jackson, MS at the old Duling School location. The auction was entertaining and fast-paced. Lots of very fine art by well-known artists, for charity donation. The other show was Art on the Rez, Brandon, MS, at the St. Peter Episcopal Church. Also lots of fine art, and much of it sold, for charity donation to worthy cause. I was glad to have sold my oil painting Pearl River at Dusk. A large crowd attended this event, especially the reception. I had a very active September.

New Stage show
Entered my oil painting Pearl River at Jackson in this show at New Stage in Jackson. It is the autumn show of the Miss. Artists Guild. The show runs two or three weeks, depending on the run of the current play. The reception is Sept. 17th. Hopefully there will be a good flow of visitors.
Otherwise, I have sold a few small and mini paintings at arts and crafts events instate. It really is uplifting although of course I would prefer to sell more art. Onward into more shows this autumn, instate.

Arts Day at the Capitol
Went to this event at the State Capitol in Jackson. I took some of my paintings and lots of business cards. I don't think people were allowed to sell directly at this government location. There was a large crowd of people, with about 30-40 displays. Mostly it was arts organizations. I think I was about the only individual artist. I gave out lots of my business cards. The only problem was parking, but luckily I am rather healthy and I managed the long walk to the car all right. Hopefully some people will look at my web page.

February Miss. Artists Guild Show
Getting ready to enter my two paintings in the February show at the Miss. Craft Center. Tomorrow I will take Hayfields, oil painting, and Fast Fiddlin #1, ink and watercolor, to the center. This is the Miss. Artists Guild show titled Small Works, because they are supposed to be 11"x14" and under in size. The show opens Feb. 5. I do hope that plenty of people will be at the reception that night. Also hopefully plenty of people will view the show during the month of February.
