Richland Small Works Show

Yesterday I entered two paintings in this Miss. Artists Guild show.  "Duck," acrylic on canvas, 4"x5".  Also "Hayfield," oil on canvas, 8"x10".  This show is in the Richland, MS City Hall.  The small paintings are on table easels inside glass cases.  The city hall is at 380 Scarbrough Street, off Hwy. 49 south.  The show will last until after Christmas.  It will be necessary to contact the artists by email or telephone.  I drove down there with my GPS, and it was a pleasant outing when I haven't gone many places during the pandemic.  Fortunately I have been well.

Art on the Rez 2020

This event was virtual online this year, on Facebook.  I entered three paintings, and Lake View-III sold.  It was an acrylic painting.  The event went fairly well, but I feel everyone would prefer to have it back to an in-person event next year.  I do hope the St. Peter Episcopal Church in Brandon, MS continues the event in some form next year.

Catholic Charities Bishops Ball Virtual Auction

Happy to be in this online auction event.  My painting: View of the Top, oil, 18"x14" plus frame.  It will be in the auction Friday, June 5, around 6:00 CST.  This is the Jackson, MS Catholic Charities.  So it cheers me up to be showing my art in public again.  I guess the auction winners would be picked up at their location.  Or maybe if someone out of town bought one, it could be delivered to them by the artist.  Either way, glad to have entered.

Spring Update

Due to the pandemic, some of my art shows have been cancelled.  Happily I was notified of a new one, in late May-early June.  It is a virtual auction, the Bishop's Ball in Jackson.  I will deliver my painting late in May.  Hopefully more shows will be possible later this year.

Jackson Prep Miss. Artists Guild Show

The reception had a good sized crowd of about 100 for the McRae library there on Lakeland Drive.  The club had at least 100 paintings, including my two.  "Island Light" in oil, and "Mauve Pink Rose" in watercolor.  I was glad that a lot of them had forward-toward-spring themes, including mine.  Not known if many sold, since necessary to contact the Guild officials to purchase.  The show continues the month of February.
